鲜花 地铁 宪法 墓碑

9月26号Simon过生日时收到的一束鲜花,我们一直用水杯养着,放 在客厅的桌子上。是那种很素雅、很不起眼的花,花瓣很小,以我 对植物的无知,权且称为野花;我失手打翻了两次,也只有打翻了 才记得换一下水,本以为它活不了太久了,一个月以后,我却无比 惊讶的发现所有的花都还开着,只掉了几片叶子,比之一个月前, 丝毫不显出颓势。我心下暗暗纳罕:这是什么花,怎么有这么顽强 的生命力?   上个月在纽约时,第一次下到地铁里我被吓了一跳,号称世界之都 的纽约地铁竟是如此的破旧,连冷气都没有,大热天的一进地铁就 像洗桑拿;列车进站的轰鸣声更是大的吓人。地下的环境比起北京 地铁差一大截,更不如上海、香港。可是坐了两天之后,才发现其 线路四通八达、设计精巧合理,将整个曼哈顿和周边的新泽西、皇 后区等连成一张致密的网络,覆盖着能够想象到的各个角落。坐到 世贸中心遗址(WTC)参观时,发现这个地铁站宽敞明亮,十分舒 适,也明白了纽约地铁历史悠久,自1880年始建以来运行百年而不 衰,每天为这个城市输送血液,已属不易。   “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for … Continue reading
